Faurecia Foundation in action to fight Covid-19
As the world has been facing a major health crisis and urgent needs for materials for several weeks, the Faurecia Foundation has been taking action over the past weeks and announces that two financial donations have been made.
- The Foundation has donated €50,000 to the alliance Tous unis contre le virus (All United Against Coronavirus) composed of “Fondation de France / Assistance Publique des Hôpitaux de Paris (Paris Hospitals) and the Pasteur Institute”. The donation is used to help healthcare workers – whether in hospitals or not - to finance research projects as well as to support local social professionals and charities working with the most vulnerable populations.
- The Foundation has also donated €50,000 to the Simplon Fund to support the #GardonsLeLien initiative (#Keep in touch) as a key solidarity action to support the Covid-19 crisis. The objective of this initiative has been - and still continues to be - to equip hospitals, nursing homes and all impacted structures with tablets to maintain the link between patients with Covid-19 and their families and relatives.
These donations follow the financing of protective suits & masks done in February for Wuhan hospitals, where the Faurecia Group has a strong industrial footprint.
Beyond these financial donations and throughout the past weeks, the Faurecia Foundation has also promoted volunteering actions within its local communities. Numerous initiatives were organized by Faurecia employees in all the countries where Faurecia is operating; from supporting associations in need to donating materials, our employees mobilized their talents & energy to bring Faurecia solidarity to life within our communities.
I am glad that the recently created Faurecia Foundation is able to support the fight against the Covid-19 through these two donations. I am also proud of the Faurecia teams around the world who have given their time and energy towards helping their local communities during these difficult times.
Faced with the many challenges that are ours today and those that we will have to face in the coming weeks and the next months, our conviction becomes a certainty: never in our modern history, we have so much needed mutual help and solidarity.
Isolation kills as much as, if not more than the Covid-19 and is terrible for the people in nursing homes, but also for their families, and people in many different structures (hospitals, caring homes, etc.). Thanks to these tablets, we have been able to fight against the isolation as a result the lockdown for the most fragile populations.
The Faurecia foundation is a corporate foundation created in March 2020 by the automotive supplier Faurecia.
