The “Active Wellness” car seat wins at iF DESIGN AWARD
The company prevailed among a total of 5,575 submissions from 59 countries. The coveted prize was officially awarded on March 10, 2017.
The result once again underscores Faurecia’s commitment to being a leading supplier of innovations and technologies for the cockpit of the future. Faurecia particularly focuses on the experience of drivers or other vehicle occupants in various semi-autonomous or autonomous driving scenarios.
Through sensors, The Active WellnessTM 2.0 seat collects and analyzes biometric data and remembers the driver’s preferences, allowing it to guess how the driver will be most comfortable based on his physical condition, time of day, traveling conditions and whether in semi-autonomous or autonomous mode. Then the seat system applies countermeasures pertaining to detected motion sickness, stress, discomfort, drowsiness, and readiness to operate controls. The Active Wellness® 2.0 seat is a forward-looking example of how the cockpit of the future, through the observation of the occupants and with the aid of data management, will be given more and more predictive functions and thus be able to adapt optimally to the needs of passengers.
