Despite the difficulties of 2020, we made good progress on our Diversity & Inclusion action plan aimed at attracting, supporting and growing our talents, with a focus on women.

Let me take the opportunity of the recent International Day of Women and Girls in Science to share a few highlights. In 2020, we have delivered mentoring and coaching for 1700 women, trained 400 of our top managers - digitally - on unconscious bias. In 2021, we aim to multiply this number by 10 and will target 4000 managers trained for an always more inclusive culture. A strong focus is also put on the gender mix of our managers and engineers where we grew the share of women across our recruits to 33% -vs. 26 2 years ago. Women also represented 26% among promotions of our managers and engineers in 2020. As “Diversity is a strength” is one of Faurecia’s six convictions, we will continue to broaden initiatives to foster a more inclusive culture across our Group.

During the exceptional context of last year, “hearing” from all Faurecians in our annual employee engagement survey was more important than ever. Its results showed a community that is standing together and we saw a very strong improvement in engagement, up 12 points from 2019 to 76%. The increased confidence - at 87% - in our approach to safety expressed by our managers & engineers is a great recognition of the attention we put on our employees’ health & safety during the pandemic.

As a company, we believe in making a positive contribution – to people, business and the planet. Our convictions and values provide the fundamental inspiration that guides innovation for future mobility and our ambition to be CO2 neutral by 2030. These are strategic topics that engage and motivate our teams.

As recently announced, I’m very proud that Faurecia continues to be ranked a top employer in Europe in 2021, and in 9 countries overall. This recognition resonates particularly this year as the engagement of all Faurecia teams over the past 12 months has been incredible, as has the work of our HR community in creating a great place to work through progressive people-first HR practices.
